SCAPULAR RETRACTION AND CONTRACTION

Retracción y protracción escapular

STARTING POSITION:

Position yourself on four legs on a mat. Your knees should be underneath the hips and hands under the shoulders. Place your right hand on your waist. Retract your shoulder blades. Contract your pelvic floor and core.

MOVEMENT:

Slowly push yourself against the mat with your left arm. Now move your body down by retracting your shoulder blade. Don't bend the elbow during the movement. Repeat the movement for the specified amount of repetitions and then switch sides and repeat with the other arm.

TIPS: Focus on stiffen the spine all the time using your core muscles.
